Nine members of the Florida Chapter USMCCCA attended the national conference recently in Hampton, Virginia. Jack and Pat Paxton came from Wildwood, FL, Kate Stark from Gainsville, FL, Bob McEwen from Indian Shores, FL, Allen Moore from Altamonte Springs, FL, Tom and Sheila Kerr from Niceville, FL, Red and Ann Carpenter from Spring Hill, FL, Hank and Trudy Ehlbeck from Port Orange, FL, Chuck and Mary Beveridge from Birmingham, AL, and Mawk and Alice Arnold from Daphne, AL. Needless to say the Florida Chapter’s presence was felt in many ways.

Lewis: Author, screenwriter Jack Lewis dies in Hawaii

“LtCol. Jack Lewis died Saturday May 24, 2009. He died due to a fight with lung cancer. He lived a long and celebrated life. A war hero, stunt man, book writer, editor, business owner, and father to three sons and two daughters as well as a grandfather to three grandsons and five grand daughters. He was loved and respected. We will all miss him.” — Kehau Kuala, his daughter

Nominations for National officers and Board due by May 15

CC Regular and Associate Members are reminded that May 15 is the deadline for nominations for four officer and two board member positions of the USMCCCA. Curretn officers and board holders can be found here.

Each officer (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer) is elected for a one year period.  Board members are elected to fill staggered two year terms.  This year we will fill two Board of Director positions.  Members whose terms expire this year are Don O’Neal and Vicki Conkel Turney.
