Reception for injured combat cameraman Dec. 30

LCpl Jorge Ortiz was wounded in action in Afghanistan.

For those of you in the Quantico Area on Dec. 30, there will be a reception for injured combat cameraman LCpl Jorge Ortiz from 1000 to 1130 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Ortiz, a triple amputee, was taking pictures of a captured weapons cache in Sangin, Afghanistan, on Jan. 15, 2011 when he stepped on a buried explosive device.

The blast ripped off his legs above the knees and snapped off four fingers on his left hand and the thumb on his right hand.

After the reception, he will go to the Eagles football game on 1 January in Philadelphia and meet player, DeSean Jackson his hero, and then be brought back to Fredericksburg after the game. He will be flying back to San Diego on 2 January with his two brothers Francisco and Eddy.
