Brice: Civilian PAO passes

Manell Brice

Manell Patricia Brice, 88, of Arlington, VA, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS, following an extended illness. A long time resident of Arlington, Ms. Brice moved to Tupelo earlier this year to be near her family, especially her sister Rosaline Bryson. Ms. Brice was born June 14, 1924 in Wheeling, West Virginia, where she attended St. Alphonsus grade school and St. Joseph’s Academy. She earned a B.A. in journalism, English, and education from Mt. St. Joseph College in Cincinnati, Ohio.She taught school in Ohio and served for thirty years as a public information officer for the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. She was named an “Honorary Marine” at the conclusion of her distinguished career.She also was a volunteer leader for many years at Self Help for the Hard of Hearing, and a long time member of St. Thomas More Cathedral Parish in Arlington. Her extraordinary generosity, compassion and love will be remembered by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
