The website lists duties as:  The incumbent assists the Public Affairs Chief in achieving goals and objectives specified in the Museum’s Strategic Communications Plan, working in concert with the Museum’s partner organizations. Occasionally writes press releases and media alerts, and ensures their timely release. Assists with the identification, establishment, and maintenance of close and productive contacts with national and international media organizations.  Assists with the coordination and implementation of visitor cultivation events.

Distributes, records and maintains literature that promotes the Museum to support daily operations and special events. Attends meetings with local convention and visitor’s bureaus, marketing co-ops, and business partners to discuss promotion of the Museum when needed.
