Morrisey Induction Ceremony at Mount Soledad

The late Maj. Robert B. “Mo” Morrisey, USMCCCA’s first Executive Director and later its President, will be inducted into the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial on Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m.

Attendees at the 2012 USMCCCA Conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel will be transported by bus from the hotel at 9 a.m. on Saturday.  The ceremonies will feature the ceremonial induction unit from Mount Soledad and will last approximately one hour.  Those attending from the San Diego area should plan on being at the Memorial Flag Pole by no later than 9:45 Saturday.

The ceremony will include the Pledge of Allegiance, a brief history of Mount Soledad, the dedication of Major Morrisey’s permanent plaque and Taps.  Morrisey’s daughters, Kathy and Chel will make brief remarks.  Executive Director Jack Paxton, who served with Morrisey for a number of years, will also speak briefly of Mo’s importance to the CCs.  Any audience member who wishes to speak will be invited.
