Recently retired Phil Mehringer, will soon take up his new post  as a Veterans Outreach Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar at East Tennessee State University.

He says, ” The reason I came to ETSU is because they have a great Veterans Affairs program and I hope to enhance and add to what they’ve already done here. There are about 15,000 students enrolled with just under just 600 Veterans. The is one of the only institutions I’m aware of that has a Veteran’s Lounge on campus and full support of staff, faculty and the senior leadership of the institution. ETSU has been selected by G.I. Jobs magazine as a “Military Friendly School” for the last 5 consecutive years. The institution remains dedicated to educating our nation’s military veterans. The school is located in Johnson City, TN where there is plenty of beautiful scenery, mountains and outdoor activities.”
