Barbara Ann Huskey Coleman or Ann, as she was called by everyone, was a vivacious, wise-cracking, loving wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend.  She loved to cook, sew, and do just about any kind of craft.  She was involved in the Beta Sigma Phi organization for most of her adult life.  She was also a member of the Fallon Elks Lodge where she raised record funds for charity which helped battered and neglected children. She worked for and retired from the Bank of America after 47 years.  She began as a 17-year-old proof clerk and worked he way up to Senior Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner.  She was also a patriot, giving talks on the history of the American flag and how to properly display it.  She carried American Flag Pins to give to anyone who was not wearing one.

She was born in Jennings, LA but moved to Oceanside, CA when she was a young girl.  There she grew up on the beach with her mom and dad and three sisters.  Ann graduated from Oceanside/Carlsbad High School in 1953.  After marriage, she lived all over the world including Guam and Japan.  She spent her retirement years in Desert Hot Springs, CA and then the last 11 years of her life in Fallon, NV where she passed away on May 10, 2013

My roommate Ann and Love of my Live for 42 years, died in her sleep, Friday morning, May 10.
I have made arrangements for services at 11 a.m., on June 1, at the Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, Nevada.
After the services which will include the Elks Memorial Ceremony, we will adjourn to the Elks Lodge, 93 West Center Street, Fallon for a celebration of her life.
A full obituary will follow.
Should you wish to pay tribute to her, please don’t send flowers of any kind.  She didn’t like cut flowers unless I picked them from my flower bed.  She did on occasion get some potted pants that she really liked, however, she always said she’d wind up killing them, and I had to take care of them (happily).
Instead of flowers, Anyone can make a donation to the USMCCCA Foundation in her name, Ann Coleman.
Thank you all for your prayers and condolences.
